（吉隆坡16日讯）国内目前暂缓批准雇主引进外劳措施后，基于本地国民不热衷在嘛嘛档工作，以致该领域业者严缺1万名员工，这让大马穆斯林餐馆业者协会（Presma）主席拿督嘉瓦哈大叹：“难道在嘛嘛档工作很侮辱人吗？”
他坦言，穆斯林餐馆业业者曾录用本地员工，但他们多数上班数日后就不见人影，且比起嘛嘛档，本地人更倾向到快餐店上班。
“我们不能一竿子打翻一船人，说他们（本地人）懒惰或挑剔工作，多数国人都勤奋工作，但本地人应把握机会；我们一直欢迎本地人投身这个行业。”
嘉瓦哈接受《马来西亚前锋报星期刊》专访时坦言，业者不晓得为何本地人不愿到穆斯林餐馆工作，却宁愿到快餐店上班。
“在嘛嘛档工作很羞耻吗？我们只售卖清真食物。”
他说，穆斯林餐馆没有亏待员工，且每日提供三餐或四餐，也提供住宿，但本地人不愿投身该业。
他也否认穆斯林餐馆因给员工微薄薪水或不良待遇，才导致本地人对该行业职缺兴趣缺缺。
他说，穆斯林业者与社险机构合作，以招聘在疫情下失业的本地人到餐馆工作，但反应不佳，该行业并非本地人的就业首选。
嘉瓦哈指出，尽管业者在餐馆外张贴招聘广告，应聘者多是外籍人士，当中不乏非法外劳。
他透露，曾为该餐馆工作的前职员如今有不俗发展，包括有些泡茶师傅已成为餐馆东主，在吉隆坡开设5至6家餐馆。
他提及，该餐馆一些前侍应至今已自立门户，经营餐馆生意，而其前司机已改行，当承包商。

无法回马工作
嘉瓦哈指出，随着我国政府管制外劳入境，在穆斯林餐馆业工作的员工返回印度后无法入境我国，如今该业缺乏人手，需聘请近1万名本地职员。
他说，穆斯林餐馆业虽面对疫情冲击，但至今没有餐馆辞退员工，反倒是职员放假回乡后无法回马工作，引起人手短缺，因此促请政府批准有需要的领域引进外劳。
“这（政府限制引进外劳）让我们陷困，人手不足时，我们不能提供最佳服务。
“我们是缴税行业之一，当出现外劳短缺，且本地人不愿从事3D（肮脏、辛苦及危险）工作，国家资金将受影响。”
他认为，国人不必对外劳的存在持有过度负面看法，而业者须按实际需求引进外劳。
