2017年世锦赛，是林丹最后的辉煌，饱受伤病困扰的他杀入世锦赛决赛，最终不敌年轻的安赛龙，正是这一个冠军，安赛龙开始走向巅峰。
2018年开始，桃田贤斗这个名字成为世界羽坛的中心，两年的时间，全英、亚锦赛、总决赛，桃田席卷所有赛事，世锦赛自然也在其中，2018、2019卫冕世锦赛冠军让他站在了杨阳、谌龙身边。
