北京冬奥将在2月4至20日举行，作为中国4个“冬奥火炬展示活动”省份之一的黑龙江省，选定哈尔滨、大庆、齐齐哈尔三站作为展示活动的城市，而大庆市以“迎接冰雪之约，奔向美好未来”为主题，将“赏冰乐雪”系列活动融入活动，旨在宣传主力北京冬奥。

大庆市委书记李世峰从黑龙江省体育局党组书记殷昌波手中接过火炬，预示著冬奥火炬正是从哈尔滨来到大庆市。

大庆市在近年来坚持高标准谋划冰雪体育发展，投资兴建硬件配套设施的专业冰上场馆，为备战训练工作提供了后勤服务保障，每年冬季都会举办具有地方性的冰雪性体育活动。
